About the Position
We are seeking a Lead Ruby Developer to join our Payments team, where our mission is to provide the fastest, best-converting, and most extensible checkout experience of any SaaS ecommerce solution. You will build and expand APIs and services while working alongside engineers, product owners, designers, business representatives, and external partners to maintain a platform that securely incorporates new payment providers and builds new functionalities.
Responsibilities
- Build and expand APIs and services for the checkout experience
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, business representatives, and external partners
- Maintain a platform to securely incorporate new payment providers
- Develop new functionalities for merchants and partners
- Provide a large range of APIs and SDKs that let merchants and partners build their desired checkout experience
- Support customization so every merchant can tailor a unique and compelling checkout flow
- Application monitoring and operational intelligence using relevant tooling
- Strive for operational efficiency and innovative problem-solving
- Prioritize the team over individuals in a remote-first environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Expertise in Ruby
- Proficiency in Scala and PHP (version 8)
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Sentry, and Kibana for application monitoring and operational intelligence
- Capability to build and expand APIs and SDKs
- Skills in working remote-first within a collaborative team environment
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
