About the Position

We're seeking a Lead / Senior Product Designer for a large European convenience retail network managing over 12,000 stores and 3 million customers daily. The project focuses on designing next-generation POS (Point of Sale) systems, including self-service cashier interfaces and transaction support systems in retail environments.

Responsibilities

Designing UX/UI interfaces for POS systems
Leading discovery phases, including facilitating workshops, usability research, and user testing
Collaborating closely with developers, business stakeholders, and Product Owners
Presenting design concepts and research findings to teams and stakeholders
Making independent design decisions and ensuring solution quality at every stage

Requirements

Experience leading complex product design projects independently
Strong knowledge of product discovery methods, user research, prototyping, and usability testing
Ability to design products used frequently under time pressure and operational environments
Experience developing design standards, component libraries, or design systems
Skills in working with quantitative and qualitative data and defining metrics for evaluating results
Excellent communication and presentation skills for explaining complex problems clearly
Ability to facilitate workshops, moderate discussions, and support team decision-making
Maturity in working with stakeholders and handling differing opinions and changing priorities
Attention to accessibility, readability, ergonomics, and minimizing error risks in critical processes

Nice to Have

Experience designing POS systems, retail applications, internal systems, or operational tools
Experience integrating software with physical devices like terminals, scanners, printers, or scales
Experience leading or developing design teams
