About the Position

Lead / Senior Software Engineer - Zuora

We are looking for a skilled Lead / Senior Software Engineer to build, implement, and fine-tune Zuora billing systems, working alongside various teams to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to collect requirements, develop solutions, and provide effort estimates
• Work with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts to identify and interpret business needs
• Create and improve workflows that align with business objectives
• Lead a small team, oversee deliverables, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders
• Execute system development, testing, and deployment independently
• Diagnose and fix production issues and configuration problems tied to Zuora integrations and data flows promptly
• Apply performance enhancements to keep systems running efficiently
• Assist the DevOps team with automating Zuora deployments and ensuring smooth production changes
• Create and update technical documentation covering Zuora implementations, design specs, test plans, and user guides
• Perform code reviews and offer technical mentorship to junior developers
• Train and assist end-users and stakeholders on Zuora features and best practices
• Attend regular stakeholder meetings to review project status, challenges, and resolutions

Requirements

• 5-15 years of IT experience, with proven success implementing, maintaining, and enhancing billing platforms
• Solid grasp of the Zuora platform, including Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, and APIs
• Strong background in building and modifying Zuora Invoice templates, covering Payments, Bill runs, billing document posting, Invoice, CM & HTML templates
• Working knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and the full Subscription lifecycle, including creation, updates, renewals, and cancellations
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line-item functionality, including generating Order line-items and Invoice order line items
• Capability in performing reconciliations and troubleshooting month-end processes, plus handling bulk create/update/delete tasks across multiple objects
• Comfortable using developer tools and Postman
• Background in integrating with ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, data analytics tools, and tax systems, such as Salesforce, Zuora APIs, and Payment Gateways
• Knowledge of Zuora Workflow for building new automated workflows and improving existing ones
• Thorough understanding of Admin features and configurations, including Roles, Permissions, and Billing templates
• Capacity to address ongoing questions and analysis requests from business, finance, dev, QA, and other teams
• Awareness of Zuora product updates, industry trends, and best practices to maintain peak system performance
