About the Team
Common Platform: Provisioning (CP: Provisioning) underpins Sitecore’s SaaS and AI ecosystem. We own and operate the Unified Provisioning (UniP) platform and Content Services (CS) Provisioning APIs, responsible for multi-tenant lifecycle management, automated infrastructure orchestration, environment setup, and seamless product onboarding across Sitecore’s cloud portfolio.
Our mission is to make tenant and service provisioning lightning-fast, fully automated, resilient, and completely invisible to end-users. We deliver mission-critical, highly available cloud services that support enterprise customers worldwide.
About the Role/ The Opportunity
As a core member of CP: Provisioning, you will design, build, and operate distributed orchestration engines and backend APIs that automate complex multi-step provisioning workflows across cloud infrastructure.
You will tackle challenging distributed systems problems around idempotency, workflow orchestration, eventual consistency, automated recovery, and multi-tenant resource isolation. Currently, our services run on modern.NET (.NET 8) with ongoing initiatives to adopt the latest performance, caching, and runtime optimizations (.NET 10).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET, delivering high-quality code that adheres to Sitecore engineering standards.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, consistent, and frequent deployments using GitHub Actions or equivalent systems.
- Develop comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) to ensure robustness and maintainability across services.
- Work with cloud-native technologies including Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, and distributed messaging (Kafka) to support multi-tenant, high-performance architectures.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Manager, Product Owner, Lead Developer, QA, and cross-functional teams to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical design.
Requirements
- Deep Expertise in Modern C# / .NET for Resilient Backend Services Advanced asynchronous programming, dependency injection, high-throughput REST APIs, minimal APIs, and clean architectural design.
- Distributed Workflows, Orchestration & Idempotency Experience building stateful or saga-style orchestration workflows, resilient background workers, event-driven pipelines, and handling transient failures, rollbacks, and recovery.
- Cloud-Native & Containerized Architecture (Azure + Kubernetes) Practical experience with Azure cloud services (App Services, Cosmos DB, Service Bus/Event Hubs, Key Vault) and container workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- DevOps & Infrastructure as Code Mindset Strong CI/CD engineering practices (e.g., GitHub Actions), pipeline hardening, and automated testing (unit, integration, smoke and contract tests).
Nice to Have
- Resilience & Idempotency by Design (Thinking in Systems & Failure Domains) Designing workflows where step failures are expected, retried safely, or cleanly rolled back without leaving orphaned resources or inconsistent tenant state.
- Cross-Platform Collaboration & Technical Ownership Proactively driving technical clarity and partnering with downstream product teams, SRE, and security to ensure frictionless product onboarding and smooth tenant rollouts.
- Operational & Reliability Excellence (SRE Mindset) Embedding telemetry from day one (APM, distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics), authoring crisp operational runbooks, and treating failure triages as learning opportunities.
We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment
- Collaborative and inclusive workplace culture
