About the Position

Lead, Strategic Sourcing Electronics/Fiber Optics

Belden Inc, a company that connects people, information, and ideas to solve the world’s most complex connectivity challenges, is looking for a strategic sourcing leader. This role will manage the global sourcing strategy for electronic components and fiber optic active devices, ensuring optimal supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and strategic supplier relationships throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Act as global strategic sourcing lead for electronic components and fiber optic active devices, managing supplier strategy, negotiation, and commercial relationships.
• Partner with R&D, engineering, and supply chain from the early stages of development to align sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and total cost of ownership with design and business objectives.
• Lead negotiations and drive cost-out initiatives through competitive bidding, market/technology scouting, should-cost modeling, and supplier consolidation.
• Develop and strengthen the electronic and optical component supplier base, and drive dual-sourcing and insourcing initiatives.
• Screen the global supplier/manufacturer market to identify, qualify, and onboard new potential alternative sources.
• Assess and mitigate supply chain and single-source risk across current and future designs.
• Drive component and supplier standardization across Belden's business units and product portfolios.
• Own supplier performance management-cost, quality, delivery, and capacity-and lead cross-functional business reviews.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a closely related field; technical familiarity with electronic components and/or fiber optic/opto-electronic devices is strongly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement for electronic components or fiber optic active devices.
• Data-driven approach – High proficiency in cost modeling, market analysis, and negotiation preparation.
• Highly organized, disciplined, and analytical with a proactive approach to managing complex supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills and software proficiency in ERP/MRP, MS Excel/Word/Access.
