About the Position
We're seeking a Lead PHP/ teamleider to elevate our product speed and usability with a team in Rosmalen, NL. As a Lead PHP/ teamleider, you'll seek new opportunities daily to improve the speed and usability of our products alongside the team. You enjoy trying new things, and the faster and better you can make the product, the more enjoyable it becomes. You'll be responsible for both the application and leading our Backend team. You'll play an active role in the development process and support your team. You'll maintain an overview of the systems your team works with and act as a valuable source of knowledge and advice for your fellow backenders. From this position, you'll guide projects and other developers, periodically report on progress, and support management in addressing issues that transcend the department.
Responsibilities
- Stimulate your team positively in achieving their goals and provide guidance where necessary
- Encourage professional development within the team
- Contribute to recruitment and participate in job interviews with our Recruiters
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the team, translating bottlenecks into improvements
- Stay updated on the latest software developments and methods, with a specific focus on PHP
- Prioritize backend work in consultation with your team and the Product Owners
- Develop user stories and seek the best solutions for problems encountered
- Collaborate on expanding and improving various code bases
- Present demos to stakeholders (e.g., management or other departments)
- Communicate with Frontend colleagues about website design and functionality
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Backend Development, preferably in a leadership/management role within a commercial environment
- Good knowledge of OOP, MVC, PHP, MySQL
- HTML5, Javascript, and CSS/SASS are a must
- Experience working with a Framework (preferably Laminas and/or Symfony)
- Problem-solving approach and being a true team player
