Lead/Principal Software Engineer (C++)

About the Position

We are seeking a Lead/Principal Software Engineer (C++) to join our global team, focusing on enhancing our Data Aggregation Service with C++ algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of the C++/C# algorithm components used for VPD (vehicle sensor data) aggregation, with full individual accountability for the workstream.
• Understand and take over existing C++ and C# codebases; productionize and containerize (Docker) these algorithms for integration into the aggregation service.
• Evaluate and, where needed, swap out third-party libraries that are not Docker-compatible, ensuring smooth containerized deployment.
• Partner with data scientists to understand the algorithmic/data-science logic implemented in C++/C# and translate it into robust, production-grade code.
• Design and build test/validation suites for the algorithms to ensure correctness and stability.
• Contribute across the broader polyglot service stack (Java/Scala/Python) where useful, beyond the core C++/C# scope.
• Collaborate daily with distributed team members across India, US, and Europe time zones.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers working on the same workstream.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in C++ or C# (must-have for this role).
• Proven experience taking ownership of a workstream end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Experience containerizing applications/algorithms with Docker and integrating them into larger services.
• Comfortable working with and modernizing existing/legacy codebases.
• Experience building automated test and validation frameworks.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work with globally distributed teams.

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of Java, Scala, and/or Python (the broader service is JVM-based).
• Prior exposure to geospatial, mapping, or automotive sensor-data domains.
