Responsibilities
- Reviewing, drafting, and supporting negotiation of commercial agreements, including lease, manufacturing, supply, sales and purchase, and service agreements.
- Act as the first layer of defence in providing practical and timely legal advice to internal stakeholders and championing the applicable Legal and Compliance policies.
- Supporting compliance with Indonesian regulatory and corporate requirements, including OSS related reporting, licensing, and general regulatory filings.
- Assisting in identifying legal risks and recommending risk mitigation measures.
- Working closely with cross functional stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and Compliance.
- Supporting engagement and coordination with external consultants, under supervision.
- Maintaining accurate legal documentation and contract records in line with BAT governance standards.
- Acting at all times in accordance with BAT’s Standards of Business Conduct and internal governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university, with minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with exposure to commercial or corporate legal matters.
- Comprehensive understanding of Indonesian contract, corporate, and commercial law.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and identifying potential legal risks within contracts.
- Hands-on familiarity with Indonesian compliance platforms, specifically OSS and SIINAS, for business licensing.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations to provide actionable support for compliance and legal matters.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and collaborating across various functions in a fast-paced setting.
- Highly organized and solutions-driven, with the judgment to escalate high-risk issues when necessary.
- Fully proficient in English (written and verbal) and the standard Microsoft Office suite.
