Legal Counsel

About the Position

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia. The role involves providing legal advice and support to the Tires sector in Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to the Tires sector in Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.
• Identify and analyze legal risks.
• Monitor changes in legislation and inform stakeholders of potential impacts.
• Support the development and implementation of solutions for risk avoidance or limitation.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (customers, suppliers, public authorities, etc.).
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
• Conduct workshops and training for assigned stakeholders.
• Assist and support stakeholders in claim management, both in and out of court.
• Cooperate with other central functions and departments within Continental.
• Coordinate with external law firms.
• Record and track all legal matters in applicable IT systems and provide an overview when required.
• Uphold the confidentiality of information received and respect internal regulations/processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Law (LLB)
• Qualified to practice in Malaysia
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience working as an in-house counsel or with a law firm
• Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is a plus
