The Role

In Leipzig, many schools lack the resources to individually and deeply support high-achieving students in computer science-especially when it comes to preparing for computer science competitions or Olympiads. This is where Optimax wants to help.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, conducting, and developing a support program for high-achieving students in computer science (every 2 weeks, 90 minutes per group)

  • Solid knowledge in computer science fundamentals, especially algorithms, data structures, programming logic, and programming languages
  • Ability to convey knowledge in a structured and motivating manner
  • Self-directed work, high reliability, and organizational skills
  • Enjoyment in working with young people, enthusiasm, and patience
  • Willingness to provide an extended criminal record check
  • Enjoyment in learning, further education, and collaborative project work

Nice-to-Haves

  • Personal participation in computer science competitions (e.g., Bundeswettbewerb Informatik, IOI, Jugend forscht, Schülerakademien)
  • Experience in gifted education or working with exceptionally high-achieving students
  • In-depth knowledge of competition-relevant topics (e.g., recursive procedures, graph theory, dynamic programming)
  • Pedagogical training (e.g., in teacher education, tutor training, pedagogical further education)

We Offer
