About the Position

We are seeking a Team Lead for the Research Section of Genetic Engineering and Biosynthesis in the Group of Pharmacy, Cosmetic Chemistry, and Biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Building and expanding the research themes of the Section.
• Determining short- and long-term directions of the Section's activities.
• Initiating, acquiring, coordinating, and executing domestic and international R&D projects (e.g., NCBR, Horizon Europe, EU) in the fields of medical and industrial biotechnology, pharmaceutical chemistry, and industrial microbiology.
• Effectively acquiring business contractors, both domestic and international, for services provided by the Section.
• Establishing relationships with domestic and international scientific centers to internationalize the Section and build consortia for research and international exchange.
• Organizing and participating in scientific, business, and project meetings.
• Assessing technological capabilities in the scope of executed topics.
• Analyzing, interpreting, documenting, and reporting research results.
• Knowledge of basic financial aspects necessary for the execution of R&D projects, both funded and commercial.
• Publishing research results (publications, patents), active participation in scientific seminars and conferences.
• Operating selected laboratory equipment and installations in the biotechnological laboratory.
• Recruiting, maintaining, and developing staff according to the needs of research and development work, scientific research, analyses, and expertise, and effectively utilizing human capital in the Section.

Requirements

• A doctoral degree in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, chemistry, or related fields. A professor's title, a habilitation degree, or an ongoing habilitation procedure is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in biotechnology in the research and development field, including 3 years of experience in independently managing R&D projects.
• A minimum of 3 months of foreign scientific internship at a reputable research institution is highly desirable.
• Practical skills in working with bacteria and yeast, particularly protein production and purification.
• Experience in bioengineering, confirmed by work with GMOs.
• Experience in molecular docking using Maestro from Schrödinger is an additional advantage.
• Documented publication, patent, and project record.
• Predisposition to team management, organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and build collaborative relationships within the team.
• Creativity, independence, and goal-oriented mindset.
• English language proficiency enabling communication, access to specialized literature, and creation of publications, reports, etc.
