About the Position

LOA - Lab Technician

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Employment Type: Full-time

Duration: 6 months

Then we need your dedication and expertise! L'Oréal is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented laboratory technician for our Microbiome Discovery team. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in pioneering research and support the development of next-generation cosmetic innovations through the study of host-microbiome interactions.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct and Support Assays: Perform cell-based assays to study host-microbiome interactions, focusing on mechanistic and immunological mechanisms, while optimizing established protocols.
  • Laboratory Operations and Maintenance: Assist with the setup and daily maintenance of our lab, including cell cultures, equipment, and inventory, ensuring the highest standards of safety and functionality are met.
  • Experimental Execution: Carry out in vitro experiments and screenings of microbiome-derived compounds or formulations in collaboration with your colleagues.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with scientists to develop assays.

Requirements

  • Documented experience from a laboratory environment, specifically with cell culture techniques and immunological assays (e.g., ELISA, qPCR, TEER).
  • Strong practical experience in maintaining a sterile cell culture environment and handling biological samples.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with microbiome-related techniques (MIC, HALO).
  • Experience from a start-up laboratory environment or assistance in setting up new laboratory workflows.
  • Experience with immortalized cell cultures, primary cell culture, or co-culture models.
  • Experience with laboratory automation.
