About the Position
Our client, an innovative engineering company active in machine building and industrial projects, is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen their team in Hoorn.
In this role, you will work on technically challenging projects across industries such as steel, food, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech manufacturing. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into high-quality mechanical designs and solutions.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Advise clients and internal stakeholders on technical feasibility and manufacturability
- Translate customer requirements into concepts and detailed designs
- Perform and validate complex engineering calculations
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and processes
- Create and review specifications and technical documentation
- Design and check 3D models and production drawings
- Coach and support junior and medior engineers
- Identify risks and opportunities within projects
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- 5–10 years of experience in machine building or similar environments
- Strong experience with 3D CAD software (e.g. Inventor or similar)
- Solid knowledge of engineering standards, guidelines, and manufacturability
- Analytical, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects is a plus
