What we are looking for:
We currently have an opening for a Mainframe Cobol Senior who wants to develop their career within GFT. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person willing to start and grow in a multicultural, motivating, and challenging environment.
Availability to attend the client's offices once a week (Tres Cantos).
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the execution of batch and online processes in Mainframe environments.
- Analyze complex incidents in batch processes, JCLs, and DB2 accesses, identifying root cause.
- Design, adapt, and optimize JCLs between different environments, ensuring their correct functioning.
- Work with DB2 at an advanced level for data analysis, validation, and problem resolution using SPUFI.
- Monitor critical processes and anticipate possible failures or degradations in execution.
- Collaborate with different technical teams in the resolution of cross-functional incidents.
- Propose technical improvements in processes, automation, and monitoring tools.
Requirements
- Mainframe experience with Cobol.
- Advanced knowledge of JCLs and batch process management.
- Solid experience in DB2.
- Experience with tools like SPUFI.
- Experience in analysis and resolution of complex technical incidents.
- Knowledge of planning tools such as Control-M.
