About the Position

Manager, Convening Event Experiences

  • Location: New York, United States
  • Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: Min: $86,020 - Max: $143,440

At Nielsen, we are passionate about our work to power a better media future for all people by providing powerful insights that drive client decisions and deliver extraordinary results. Our talented, global workforce is dedicated to capturing audience engagement with content - wherever and whenever it’s consumed. Together, we are proudly rooted in our deep legacy as we stand at the forefront of the media revolution. When you join Nielsen, you will join a dynamic team committed to excellence, perseverance, and the ambition to make an impact together. We champion you, because when you succeed, we do too. We enable your best to power our future.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly Sports Series: Plan and deliver Nielsen's recurring sports convening series, including March Madness, the US Open, the World Series and additional moments across the sporting calendar. Own venue selection, hospitality standard, guest experience and on-site delivery for each edition.
  • Cultural Moments & Awards: Deliver Nielsen's client-facing presence at cultural and awards moments, coordinating with Brand, Comms and Creative so each moment ties to a current Nielsen narrative rather than standing alone.
  • Media Intelligence Lab: Own day-to-day programming, scheduling and client tours of the Media Intelligence Lab. Maintain the experience, coordinate content refreshes, and build the Media Intelligence Lab into a standard stop for visiting clients.
  • Guest Management: Build and manage guest lists with Sales and account teams, run invitation and RSVP processes, track attendance and conversion, and maintain accurate records for follow-up and reporting.
  • Vendor & Venue Coordination: Source and manage venues, caterers, AV and production vendors across. Negotiate within delegated thresholds, manage contracts and insurance requirements, and maintain a preferred supplier list.
  • On-Site Delivery: Serve as the on-site lead for the always-on portfolio, managing setup, run of show, staffing, client hosting and teardown. Represent Nielsen credibly in front of senior client guests.
  • Operations, Reporting & Playbooks: Maintain the always-on calendar, budget tracker and workback plans. Produce post-event reporting on attendance, guest feedback and cost per attendee, and build repeatable playbooks so each series improves rather than restarts.
  • Budget Tracking: Manage spend for the always-on portfolio against plan, flagging variances early and finding efficiency across recurring formats.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years in event management, client hospitality or experiential marketing, ideally in a B2B or client-facing corporate environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong New York venue, catering and production vendor network, and working knowledge of the New York event landscape.
    • Hands-on production capability, comfortable being on site and solving problems in real time.
    • Excellent organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent events, budgets and guest lists without loss of accuracy.
    • Confident, polished presence with senior client guests and internal executives.
    • Experience with event registration, RSVP and CRM tools; familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends around the sports and awards calendar.

We Offer

  • Holistic Rewards: Comprehensive health and wellness plans, a 401(k) with a Nielsen company match, and a generous paid time off policy. Depending on the role, additional benefits may include a company-provided vehicle and/or discretionary incentive/bonus eligibility.
  • Compensation Transparency: The posted base salary range is a reasonable estimate that may be adjusted based on the final work location of the selected employee. Individual pay within the range is determined by factors such as experience, training, geography, certifications, and business needs. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for bonuses, equity, or other incentives.
