Responsibilities

• Lead the onsite operational setup of new data center locations, ensuring efficient execution of daily activities and project requirements.
• Oversee workforce deployment, staffing assignments, and daily work schedules to meet operational needs.
• Manage receiving, staging, and movement of materials and equipment throughout the site.
• Coordinate equipment placement and installation support activities within the agreed project scope.
• Partner with customers, contractors, and internal teams to align schedules, resources, and operational priorities.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement solutions to keep activities on track.
• Ensure operational activities meet established safety, quality, productivity, and customer service standards.
• Provide direction, coaching, and support to operational supervisors, team leads, and frontline employees.
• Track operational performance, staffing needs, and project milestones while communicating updates to site leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, resource utilization, and overall operational performance.
• Resolve day-to-day operational challenges and escalate significant risks or barriers when necessary.
• Collaborate with Safety, Quality, HR, and other departments to support successful site execution.
• Coordinate the transition and handoff of completed projects to ongoing operations teams.
• Travel to subsequent data center locations to lead new operational start-ups as each project is completed.

Requirements

• Operations Management: Experience managing daily operations, workforce assignments, and operational performance.
• Team Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Project Management: Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and meet operational deadlines.
• Material Handling: Strong understanding of material handling, inventory flow, equipment coordination, and operational processes.
• Equipment Coordination: Experience working with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement: Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
• Warehouse Management Systems: Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking, and operational reporting.
• Coordination with External Contractors: Experience coordinating with external contractors, vendors, and customer representatives.
• Transitioning Projects: Experience transitioning completed projects to permanent operational teams.
