Manager, Sustainable Finance Technology, EY Financial Services

The Sustainable Finance Technology team is EY’s delivery team for sustainability projects in financial services. The team sits alongside other sustainability financial services teams, specifically the Sustainability Risk team (quantitative solutions, processes, and frameworks for financial risk management), Sustainable Finance Transformation, Sustainable Finance Conduct, and Non-Financial Risk, as well as our dedicated assurance team (Climate Change & Sustainability Services).

Responsibilities
- Deliver ESG technology engagements on a standalone basis or as part of a larger transformation agenda.
- Contribute to the development of technology services, approaches, and solutions that enable clients to meet sustainability objectives.
- Develop tactical and strategic solutions to sustainability tech and data issues through means such as data analysis, creating frameworks, and/or working with developers to build new tools and models.
- Support sales activities including drafting project proposal documents, meeting potential clients, inputting into branding & marketing, managing pipeline, and drafting contracts as required.
- Lead teams on ESG technology engagements, providing direction while anticipating and identifying risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Partner with other sustainability-focused teams within Consulting and other EY service lines (e.g., Tax, Assurance, Strategy) to provide technology and data input aligned to their broader ESG strategy, initiatives, and targets.
- Build relationships with ESG technology vendors to equip the team with the necessary resources and expertise to help clients through ESG complexities.
- Provide innovative insights for clients and contribute to thought leadership.
- Actively drive operational efficiency on projects through budgeting, billing, and resourcing.
- Invest in the development and success of junior team members.
Requirements
Core Skills

ESG Data and Tech
- Ability to apply ESG data & technology to address new and evolving use cases within Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, or Private Equity.
- Experience in at least one of the ESG pillars and some ESG regulations and their impact on financial services firms.
- Understanding of financed emissions and the role of financial services in meeting global environmental targets.
- Experience in ESG data & technology change programs implemented and integrated within existing architectures and environments.
- Knowledge of ESG data vendors, data models, common usage, and associated pitfalls, as well as ESG market data trends.

Carbon and/or nature markets expertise
- Including voluntary carbon markets, compliance markets, Article 6, and market participants.
- Strong knowledge of carbon market data including MRV.
- Ability to translate business and sustainability requirements into data, technology, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and operating model design.
Secondary Skills

Broader Technology Delivery
- Experience in solution architecture, data management & strategy, and/or large-scale transformation program delivery.
- Good understanding of agile and traditional SDLC delivery methods including experience using tools such as JIRA or DevOps.
- Understanding of modern technology such as process automation (ServiceNow, Pega) or cloud (Azure, AWS) and how it’s delivered and used within the context of financial firms.
