About the Position

Manager - Technical Accounting & Assurance, IFRS, GAAP

Join HARMAN as a Manager - Technical Accounting & Assurance, IFRS, GAAP. Lead complex accounting projects, ensure compliance, and drive financial reporting excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex accounting issues and provide well-documented technical guidance on complex transactions (e.g., revenue, leases, business combinations, impairments) in line with IFRS.
  • Provide accounting support for M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, and restructurings.
  • Evaluate the accounting treatment of business combinations, goodwill, and intangible assets.
  • Own and maintain accounting position papers and judgment memos for material and complex matters.
  • Draft and maintain accounting policy documentation.
  • Draft review guidance for financial statement line items.
  • Train finance teams on policy updates and technical topics.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including disclosures.
  • Act as a key liaison with external auditors, ensuring audit readiness, timely issue resolution, and minimal audit adjustments.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, audit, or accounting advisory roles.
  • Deep understanding of accounting and international standards, with experience in M&A.
  • Proven experience in analyzing and applying IFRS to real-world business scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting transformations and regulatory projects.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification in accounting or auditing.
  • Big 4 experience.
  • Experience in the automotive or automotive supplier industry.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in a multinational organization utilizing a Financial Shared Services model.
  • External audit, ESG reporting experience.
