M&A Collaboration & Security Platforms Engineer

About the Position

We're seeking a M&A Collaboration & Security Platforms Engineer to join Kraken, focusing on integrating acquired companies' collaboration stacks into a unified and secure environment.

Responsibilities

M&A Integration (Core Focus)

• Drive end-to-end integration of collaboration platforms for each acquisition, including migration of users, Slack channels, Google Workspace Drive, mailboxes, and configurations.
• Assess acquired companies' collaboration stacks for configurations, security, and compliance gaps.
• Rationalize overlapping tools across brands, making decisions on migrations and sunset.
• Build repeatable playbooks, tooling, and automation for faster integrations.
• Coordinate cutover timelines and TSA-driven dependencies with relevant teams.

Collaboration Platforms

• Own Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom at enterprise scale including architecture, governance, licensing, and daily operations.
• Build and maintain integrations between collaboration tools and identity/security stack (including Okta, Global Relay, eDiscovery, archiving platforms).
• Define and enforce cross-brand governance standards and build automation for secure operations.
• Collaborate with HRIS and IAM teams for onboarding and offboarding.

Email & Domain Security

• Manage email security infrastructure including filtering, quarantine, impersonation defense, and DMARC/SPF/DKIM hygiene.
• Manage large multi-registrar, multi-brand domain portfolio; lead DNS migrations, audits, and consolidation.
• Respond to phishing, insider threat signals, and anomalous domain activity.

Compliance & Legal Support

• Lead legal hold management, eDiscovery queries, and data productions across multiple entities.
• Architect and maintain compliant archiving infrastructure (Global Relay, Smarsh, Virtru).
• Produce and defend evidence for regulatory and audit obligations, working with Legal and Compliance.

Security & Access Control

• Design and maintain DLP rules, group access controls, and data access policies.
• Lead insider threat reduction initiatives, access revocation, extension management, and public channel governance.
• Own platform-level incident response including investigation and containment.

Tooling & Vendor Management

• Evaluate, onboard, consolidate, and sunset SaaS tools across the collaboration and security stack.
• Lead vendor relationships, procurement, and renewals; make build-vs-buy decisions.
• Build automation to reduce manual toil and improve governance at scale.

Requirements

• 4–6 years hands-on experience administering Google Workspace and Slack at large companies (1,000+ users), including complex migrations and governance.
• Demonstrated experience owning or leading technology migrations in M&A or systems consolidation contexts.
• Solid email security experience: filtering, quarantine, DMARC/SPF/DKIM, impersonation defense, and threat response.
• DNS administration and domain portfolio management at scale.
• Direct experience with compliance and legal workflows, legal holds, eDiscovery, regulatory data productions, and compliant archiving platforms.
• Ability to scope problems, design solutions, execute and close projects, especially under time pressure.
• Comfortable making decisions under ambiguity and explaining acquired messy environments.
• Understands clean infrastructure as a security control.
• Works well across Legal, Compliance, IT, Security, Corporate Development, and acquired teams.
• Proactive communicator; manages multiple integrations without losing track.
• Automates and systematizes recurring work; builds long-lasting documentation, tooling, and governance frameworks.
• Takes ownership and fixes issues promptly.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating multiple acquired companies' collaboration stacks into a single parent environment.
• Experience with Global Relay, Smarsh, Virtru, or comparable archiving platforms.
• Familiarity with Okta and its integration patterns with Google Workspace and Slack.
• Experience managing large domain portfolios across multiple registrars and DNS providers.
• Exposure to eDiscovery and legal hold tooling.
• Comfort working in regulated industries like financial services, crypto, or fintech where compliance is mandatory.
