Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Structures, Propulsion, & Mechanisms

Responsibilities

  • Manage Employees: Oversee employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering.
  • Develop and Execute Plans: Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Resource Acquisition: Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Employee Development: Manage, develop, and motivate employees.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing teams to develop solutions so the floor can build and assemble products.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership".
  • Technical Knowledge: Technical knowledge & experience in Structures, Propulsion Structures, or Propulsion Systems.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required.

Nice to Have

  • Data Analysis: Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and propulsion systems.
  • Mechanical Manufacturing Experience: 3+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries (Structures, Propulsion, Integration, or GSE).
