Marine Mammal/ Fauna/ Seabird Observer/ PAM Operator

About the Position

Atlas NextWave provides tailor-made environmental solutions to the offshore construction, hydrocarbon, and renewable energy sectors worldwide. We are currently seeking experienced Marine Mammal, Fauna, and Seabird Observers and/or PAM Operators with a strong background in marine seismic surveying projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observations and monitoring of marine mammals, fauna, and seabirds.
• Operate Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) equipment.
• Prepare technical reports based on observations.
• Work independently in remote field locations, including night/weekend shifts and challenging weather conditions.

Requirements

• A minimum of a BSc degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Marine Science, or a related field.
• Lead MMO candidates must have at least five years of relevant work experience, while MMO candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience.
• JNCC approved MMO and/or BOEMRE approved PSO training.
• OPITO approved BOSIET or FOET.
• Norwegian Maritime Directorate (NMD) Medical and/or OGUK Medical.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
