About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a project delivered for a well-known company in the railway industry, specializing in the design and manufacturing of seating solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing welding fixtures and tooling used in the production of steel structures, working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure high quality and efficient manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Designing welding fixtures and tooling for steel structures used in the railway industry
- Developing concepts for locating, clamping, and positioning welded components
- Preparing 3D models and 2D technical documentation
- Selecting standard components, pneumatic systems, and mechanical parts used in fixtures and tooling
- Collaborating with welding engineers, production teams, and quality departments
- Analyzing and optimizing existing solutions in terms of quality, ergonomics, and production efficiency
- Providing technical supervision over the manufacturing of fixtures by in-house workshops or external suppliers
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- At least 3 years of experience in designing welding tooling, fixtures, or production equipment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent tools
- Capability to develop technical documentation in line with applicable industry standards
- Proven involvement in projects within the railway sector
- Working knowledge of EN 15085 welding standards
- Practical understanding of welding processes for steel structures, including MIG/MAG and TIG
- Strong awareness of locating, positioning, and clamping principles for manufactured components
- Competence in analyzing and mitigating welding distortions
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T/GPS)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, documentation, and customer requirements
- English language skills at a communicative level
- Ukrainian tax residency required
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of ISO 3834 quality requirements
- Experience working with large-scale steel structures
- Knowledge of industrial pneumatics and hydraulics
- Ability to perform Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA) analyses
- Experience in implementing robotic and automated production cells/workstations
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and their impact on the design of welded structures and welding tooling
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems

Salary
