Energiot is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the product and R&D team in Barcelona. The person will participate in the mechanical design of IoT devices applied to the monitoring of electrical networks, working on the development of parts, tooling, prototypes, and manufacturable solutions for products deployed in the field.

This is an ideal position for someone with practical experience in mechanical product design and development, manufacturing, and technical documentation, who wants to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside hardware, firmware, and product teams, contributing directly to the development of real solutions for the energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • 3D Design and Drawings: Use software programs (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA) for digital modeling and the creation of manufacturing drawings.
  • Simulation and Calculation: Evaluate the behavior of the parts (stresses, tolerances, kinematics) to ensure their technical feasibility.
  • Material Selection: Choose the appropriate components (screws, motors, bearings, profiles) taking into account cost and regulations.
  • Manufacturability: Search for and select the optimal technique or process for the design and manufacture of each component in the different phases of product development.
  • Documentation Management: Create manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), and manage project revisions.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience.
  • Advanced Vocational Training in Mechanical Manufacturing Design, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
  • Real-world manufacturing experience, not just conceptual design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Basic mechanical calculation knowledge.
  • Experience in tooling design.
  • Experience with sheet metal, machining, and 3D printing.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Preferred:

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork.

  • Autonomy.
  • Proactivity.
  • Experience in technical documentation, BOMs, and revision management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection.

We Offer

  • Full-time, permanent contract
  • Entrepreneurial startup culture with a high level of ownership
  • Private medical insurance coverage (Adeslas PYME total)
  • Office located in Barcelona, with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability.
