The Nationale Loterij, celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2024, continues to thrive with a robust model: numerous players, moderate stakes, a naturally responsible gaming offer of iconic and traditional games, and strong engagement from all Belgians, particularly through support for various charitable causes.

With a record-breaking 1,666 billion euros in stakes in 2025, the Nationale Loterij was ready for such success. This readiness is primarily a matter of capacity, capable of handling very high peaks of activity, up to 5,000 participations per minute at certain times. This capacity is supported by a solid ecosystem: a dense network of sales points, a growing online presence (mainly mobile), and an app that has become a reflex for many players. The connection between retail and digital is reinforced by concrete actions that have become established habits: consulting, scanning, buying, and checking.

In addition to the main games like EuroMillions-the most played game in 2025 with 67.3 million play moments (across all channels)-and the renewed Lotto with the dream house to be won once a month, on the last Saturday of the month, this dynamic extends to the rest of the offer. Instant lottery games reaffirm their popularity, continue to grow, and contribute to the overall sustained growth. Finally, the fourth pillar is confirmed: the other traditional draw games. These continue to perform well and strengthen the balance in the Nationale Loterij's gaming offer.

This record year confirms the strength of the 'hybrid' model, in which the local network and the digital world reinforce each other. The retail channel remains the largest: €1.172 billion in sales in 2025 (+2.8%), i.e., 70.3% of the stakes in 6,748 sales points. Online sales continue to grow: €494 million (+19.6%), i.e., 29.7% of the stakes, with an emphasis on mobile use (76.2% via the app).

"We have become one of the largest e-commerce ecosystems in the country. And yet, our great strength remains the same: a lottery of proximity, both physically and online," says Jannie Haek, CEO of the Nationale Loterij.

A record turnover and a record number of play moments also lead to an increase in the total amount of winnings. In 2025, players at the Nationale Loterij experienced 117.2 million winning play moments, resulting in €1.266 billion in paid winnings. The number of winnings paid out increased by 17% compared to 2024, and the average win increased by about €1.

But you never win alone at the Nationale Loterij. The basic principle of a public lottery is that individual luck is part of a collective model: The winners do not walk away with all the stakes, part of it flows back into society. In the end, luck smiles on everyone: the winners... and society.

Responsibilities

• Create custom and reusable AEM building blocks such as components, templates, dialogs, edit configs in AEM 6.4 and/or 6.5 environment.
• Work with DAM and create custom metadata schemas, using assets, content fragments, and experience fragments.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines & version control systems such as Git (Feature branching, Pull Requests + code reviews).
• Collaborate with Adobe Managed Services (Enterprise version).
• Develop and maintain websites and applications using CSS, SASS, and JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, etc.
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
