You will work closely with ASIC, MEMS, and housing departments throughout the product and system design, collaborating with testing, quality, reliability, failure analysis, and end-customer application teams to bring cutting-edge MEMS components to market. The System Validation Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, analyzing data, and reporting on product performance, with a focus on fully characterizing the electrical and acoustic performance of the microphone component. In this role, you will leverage your acoustic expertise and product management skills to address technical development issues and work closely with numerous customers to solve complex challenges.
Responsibilities
- Conducting product validation and characterization across various process and test conditions at the laboratory level and identifying any deviations from requirements.
- Performing performance evaluations-considering electrical and acoustic aspects-of products and experimental designs (DoEs) for ASICs, MEMS, and housing at the microphone module level.
- Defining validation methodologies, test coverage, acceptance criteria, and reporting requirements.
- Establishing validation scope, objectives, plans, and schedules based on input from major customers.
- Creating documentation for validation test designs and supporting the development of automated test setups.
- Assisting in the launch of new microphone products, including initial hardware and software preparation. Defining, developing, executing, and validating test trim routines.
- Conducting validation tests, analyzing results, and performing root cause analyses for performance, reliability, and specification issues.
- Conducting investigations and in-depth technical analyses as needed to isolate issues related to ASIC, MEMS, and housing components. Supporting debugging activities, including collaboration with design and development teams.
- Managing validation equipment, including availability, maintenance coordination, operational readiness, and proper use. Ensuring that validation activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements.
- Performing correlation analyses throughout the product development process and investigating deviations. Identifying trends, causes of deviations, and potential risks through statistical and technical analyses. Supporting the creation of precise, traceable, and repeatable validation datasets.
- Creating validation reports, technical summaries, dashboards, and review documents. Presenting results, risks, deviations, and recommendations to project stakeholders and customers as needed.
- Collaborating with TDK teams from design, product development, quality, manufacturing, applications, and technology development.
- Maintaining clear documentation of test plans, test conditions, results, issues, conclusions, and follow-up actions.
- Supporting efforts to improve the quality and accuracy of models and simulations and their correlation with measured component and module performance. Contributing validation expertise to technology development experiments.
- Participating in the definition and improvement of standard validation processes, tools, and best practices.
