Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

I am representing a respected general contractor delivering complex projects across the data centre sector, Texas-wide. They are looking to appoint multiple experienced MEP Managers to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical facilities.

The MEP Manager is accountable for the coordination, integration, and delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the construction lifecycle. This role ensures MEP scopes are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP coordination across all disciplines to ensure systems are fully integrated with the overall construction plan
  • Support preconstruction and construction activities through design assistance, constructability input, and planning
  • Manage commissioning processes for mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring readiness for turnover
  • Review, track, and expedite MEP submittals, RFIs, and approvals to maintain schedule alignment
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to sequence work, resolve field issues, and oversee MEP trade performance
  • Monitor quality control and compliance with building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, MEP, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction with direct responsibility for MEP scopes
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes
  • Proven background in mechanical and electrical construction environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading MEP coordination, design assistance, and commissioning on mission-critical projects, including data centres, healthcare, telecommunications, or similar sectors
  • Ability to lead teams, manage relationships, and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
  • Track record of successfully managing MEP delivery on complex projects
