About the Position
Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time-consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
About the Role
Our headquarters is in sunny Sydney, Australia, but our team spans the globe. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role, we’re focusing on Mexico City, Mexico, so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. This will give you the flavor of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
Responsibilities
- Owning Canva’s localisation strategy for Mexico, identifying opportunities to improve cultural relevance, clarity, tone, and overall user experience.
- Partnering closely with local and regional teams on product growth initiatives, contributing localisation insights that influence market-specific priorities and roadmap decisions.
- Analysing user behaviour, activation, and subscription funnels to uncover opportunities for growth and localisation improvements.
- Providing cultural insights and strategic guidance to global marketing, content, and cross-functional teams to ensure experiences resonate authentically with Mexican users.
- Collaborating with external localisation partners, linguists, and translators to deliver high-quality es-MX experiences across all touchpoints.
- Identifying opportunities to scale localisation learnings across Latin American Spanish-speaking markets while preserving local authenticity and nuance.
- Acting as the voice of Mexican users internally, championing culturally relevant experiences that help Canva become one of the most loved brands in Mexico.
Requirements
- Strong experience in localisation, internationalisation, growth, product, brand, or marketing roles focused on the Mexican market.
- Deep understanding of Mexican culture, digital behaviours, and how localisation impacts user experience and product adoption.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with data to evaluate funnel performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements that enhance user experience.
- Thrive in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments and enjoy influencing stakeholders across multiple specialties.
- Both strategic and hands-on - comfortable navigating ambiguity while driving execution and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Experience working across LATAM Spanish-speaking markets or within SaaS/product-led technology companies will be highly valued.
About the Team
The Localisation group is responsible for the localisation of Canva’s product, marketing, and content, along with the tools, processes, and systems that make this possible. Sitting within the International Supergroup, the team partners closely with stakeholders across Canva to create hyperlocalised experiences that delight users around the world.
In Mexico, the mission is to empower all Mexicans to design and make Canva one of the most loved and culturally iconic brands in the country. The team combines strategy, creativity, cultural insight, and operational excellence to ensure Canva feels truly local for creators, businesses, educators, and communities across the region.
