Project Description
A technology platform that processes large volumes of real-world data to help businesses identify operational risks and make data-driven decisions. The product is already in production and continues to expand its data and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and lead guided, multifaceted analytic studies against large volumes of data.
- Coordinate research and analytic activities utilizing various data points (unstructured and structured) and employs programming to clean, massage, and organize the data.
- Leads all data experiments tasked by the Research and Development team.
- Develop data models and processing schemes to apply to data sets.
- Coordinate with the software engineering team to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Requirements
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Experience using web services: Redis, S3, Spark, etc.
- Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
- Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
- Proven track record of working with engineers to deploy data processing schemes and algorithms in production at scale.
- Ability to formulate and efficiently test hypotheses related to desired business outcomes.
- Effective at clearly communicating concepts and results with data visualization.
