About Us
Helsing is a company specializing in AI for the defense sector. Our mission is to protect our democracies. Our goal is to achieve technological leadership so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and determine their own ethical standards in the future.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility for the prudent development and responsible use of high-performance technologies such as artificial intelligence. We take this responsibility very seriously.
We are an ambitious and dedicated team of engineers, AI specialists, and customer-oriented program managers. For our European teams, we are looking for people who identify with our mission and want to use their skills to solve some of the most complex and impactful challenges of our time.
We live an open and transparent corporate culture in which we expressly welcome constructive discussions about the use of technology in the defense sector, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
Your Role
As an internal employee in plant and facility security at Helsing Germany GmbH in Munich, you contribute to ensuring the comprehensive physical security of our locations. You monitor our security infrastructure, coordinate the response to security incidents, and support the secure handling of classified information.
As part of our in-house security team, you work in a dynamic and employee-oriented shift model that includes night, weekend, and holiday shifts. We offer you above-average compensation as well as corresponding allowances for night, weekend, and holiday work.
Your work is an important part of the operational security of our locations. You help protect our working environment against changing threats and thus create the conditions for our teams to safely advance our mission.
Responsibilities
- You monitor our security infrastructure – including video surveillance, hazard detection, alarm, and access control systems – and ensure their reliable operation.
- You identify and assess security risks and incidents, initiate appropriate measures, and coordinate cooperation with police, fire department, and emergency services if necessary.
- You control secure access to our locations and sensitive areas, including visitors, external service providers, and the management of keys and access media.
- You support the secure handling of classified information and compliance with our security and secrecy guidelines.
- You monitor relevant security and threat situations and inform the relevant internal teams about security-relevant developments.
- You document security incidents and operational measures in a comprehensible manner and ensure structured handover and communication.
- You assist in special security situations and events with increased protection needs and are the contact point for employees via our internal emergency hotline.
Requirements
- You have solid practical experience in facility security, plant security, security services, or a comparable security-critical environment.
- You have experience in handling and coordinating security incidents.
- You have a good technical understanding and can safely operate security, alarm, and access control systems and perform initial error analysis in case of disturbances.
- You have very good German and good English skills and can communicate confidently with national and international service providers as well as internal teams.
- You are interested in the requirements for handling classified information and information requiring protection.
- You can make quick, sensible, and reliable decisions even under time pressure and in emergency situations.
- You are confident in navigating the regulatory requirements in the field of physical security.
Note: We work in an industry where women and other underrepresented groups are still significantly underrepresented. We expressly encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the listed requirements.
Nice to Have
- Recognized qualifications or certifications in facility security, physical security, or crisis management.
- Professional experience in the defense, intelligence, government, or security-critical technology sector.
- Experience with modern hazard detection, video surveillance, and alarm management systems.
Join Helsing and Our Important Mission
- Our work is meaningful. At Helsing, you directly contribute to the protection of democratic states – in an environment where ethical and geopolitical issues play an equally important role.
- Our work is unique. We work in an area with exceptional technical requirements and conditions, where robustness, security, and responsible action are crucial. You can expect special challenges in the areas of engineering and AI, whose solutions make a tangible difference.
- Technologically, we often work at the cutting edge of what is possible today. The defense industry is in a critical phase of its technological development. Progress in our field is not just incremental – Helsing is part of significant technological leaps and is shaping them significantly.
- Success for us means fundamentally improving capabilities and creating new opportunities. That's why we think ambitiously, take conscious risks, and focus on the biggest opportunities. Although Helsing is a relatively young company, we have already been selected for several significant public contracts.
- We promote an open, constructive, and diverse exchange about what we do and how we do it. Our teams and employees are given the trust and freedom to act independently, think critically, and focus on impact rather than conformity. At Helsing, you can help shape how we work, openly address what works and what doesn't, and take responsibility for the aspects of our culture that are particularly important to you.
