Mobile Software Engineering Manager

About the Position

Our client, a UK-based, global innovative company in the area of utility engineering, is expanding their IT structures in a new office in Kraków. Their aim is to build 3 mobile teams working on their super smart home app which is at the forefront of IoT and customer experience. They are proud of what we have built so far, which includes an App Store and Google Play rating of 4.5 and 4.3 stars respectively. The app has more than 1 million active users worldwide and the IoT platform has over 4 million connected machines. Their huge ambition is to grow this platform and to support more machines from more categories the challenge is significant.

Responsibilities

• Work with your team to contribute features and improvements to the app, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and covered by tests
• Conduct 1:1s with your team members, setting objectives that develop them towards their career goals, and evaluating their performance
• Instill a test-first attitude in our developers; helping our test engineers to write better code
• Help define and execute on a test strategy that ensures we deliver quality software
• Work with your Engineering Manager peers to ensure teams are collaborating effectively and that the right choices are made
• Collaborate with everyone in the wider team: TPOs, Scrum Masters, cloud developers, UX/UI designers, and embedded software engineers
• Work with scrum masters on team development and monitoring metrics to assess progress
• Work with TPOs and other stakeholders to assess risks and dependencies to aid decision making
• Identify new technologies and tools to help continually improve standards

Requirements

• Agile: Experience with Agile methodologies
• Mobile Applications: Proven experience in mobile application development
• Software Engineering Practices: Strong understanding of good software engineering practices
