About the Position
Murex Back Office Support Consultant
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Murex Back Office Support Consultant to join our team in Mumbai, India. This role offers an excellent opportunity for personal development in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a team developing an application for one of the largest traders in the world. This long-term project is rapidly expanding and will support significant growth and change in the future.
Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for Murex Back Office modules and associated operational processes.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests related to Murex workflows and Back Office functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trade confirmations, settlements, payments, accounting events, and post-trade processing activities.
- Investigate and resolve STP (Straight Through Processing) exceptions, reconciliation breaks, and operational discrepancies.
- Support EOD and intraday batch processing, reporting activities, and interfaces between Murex and external systems such as SWIFT and accounting platforms.
- Participate in release management, testing, deployment activities, and post-implementation support.
- Create and maintain documentation for incident resolutions, known errors, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide off-hours support for critical production incidents when required.
Requirements

Must have
- 7+ years of experience in Murex application support, with strong expertise in Back Office modules within a production support environment.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, post-trade processing, settlements, and operational workflows across asset classes such as Commodities, Equities, and other OTC products.
- Hands-on experience with Murex workflows, confirmations, settlements, payments, and accounting processes. Exposure to Datamart reporting and data analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and batch scheduling/monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis in business-critical environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience interacting with business users, operations teams, and technology stakeholders.
