About the Position
National Field Coordinator
GOPA Tech is implementing the KfW financed project Solid Waste Management in Protected Areas in Namibia. We are seeking a suitably qualified and motivated Namibian professional to join the project team as Field Coordinator. The project supports the development and implementation of sustainable solid waste management systems within selected protected areas across Namibia in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities and support project implementation.
- Liaise with MEFT, project partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, consultations, and project events.
- Arrange travel, accommodation, and logistics for project missions and field visits.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication activities.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and submission of project reports and other deliverables.
- Maintain project records, action trackers, and documentation systems.
- Follow up on project actions and support implementation planning.
- Assist with field missions and site visits as required.
- Provide general project coordination and administrative support to the project team.
Requirements
- A degree in Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree advantageous).
- Relevant professional experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or environmental management.
- Familiarity with Namibia's environmental, conservation, and government sectors.
- Experience working with government ministries, public institutions, donor-funded projects, or development programmes.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.
- Ability to work independently and proactively with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be based in Windhoek and available to work from the project office.
