About the Position
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)-PRN
Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) on a PRN basis. Our 22-bed level 3 NICU is the only one in the northern lower peninsula, serving a referral region spanning 150 miles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients.
- Establish medical diagnosis for common short-term or chronic health problems.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and perform diagnostic and invasive and noninvasive procedures.
- Prescribe medications in collaboration with the neonatologist.
- Initiate and adjust fluid requirements, parenteral and enteral nutrition, and other therapeutic treatments.
- Provide emergency care and perform CPR and resuscitative measures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Education / Training:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Association
- Work Experience:
- Neonatal transport experience preferred.
- Certification, Licensure, Registration:
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- NRP instructor status is encouraged. Completed advanced training program and is certified by NCC as a neonatal nurse practitioner
