About the Position

Network Engineer IRC301820

Our client is a global power technologies and energy systems leader that provides power management systems, including measurement and control equipment. The purpose of the development project is to create reliable charging solutions for public transport. The project aims to ensure that these vehicles can easily and continuously charge their batteries, improving public transport services and making them more efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure required inputs are captured to comply with customer, standard, and regulatory requirements and deliver requirements compliance document.
  • Own and prepare network architecture as part of the product development process.
  • Develop, implement, and configure security controls, networks, and solutions (e.g., L3 and L7 firewalls) concluded with respective quality assurance and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Install and harden firewall and ethernet switch security, implement group policies, account restrictions, and resource administration.
  • Act as L4 support team member for network incident management process including incident reporting, root cause analysis, solution identification, and implementation.
  • Own and prepare network-related documentation for the delivery products.
  • Set up, implement, maintain, monitor, and support laboratories networks, deployment tools, and technologies, including Ethernet Switches and Firewall.
  • Configuration, maintenance, test, and troubleshoot TCP/IP networks according to a predefined reference architecture.
  • Monitor, maintain, enhance, and support client-provided network solutions.
  • Perform network tests and validations including load, redundancy, scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Create and maintain product documentation describing network architecture, configuration, maintenance, and diagnosis.
  • Support operations team in integration of standard product in customer-specific networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or similar.
  • Knowledge of system administration, networks, infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls), configuration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Network Fundamentals (routing, VLANs, subnets, etc.) and Network Security.
  • Experience and strong understanding in industrial protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN Bus, Modbus, Websocket, OCPP, MQTT.
  • Familiar with cybersecurity standards, guidelines, and best practices for building highly resilient hardened systems (e.g., NERC CIP, BDEW, IEC 62443 3-2 & IEC 62443 3-3, FISMA, NIST, CIS, and OWASP).
  • Good understanding of basic cybersecurity controls like IDS/IPS (host and network), hardening, security policies, malware protection, filtering, etc.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience and experience in local networks simulation, testing, maintenance, or similar activities.
  • Experience in agile software development processes and security development lifecycle processes (good to have).
  • Experience in system security, product/application security architecture, network security, and web services.
  • Fluency in written and spoken as well as technical writing English.
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills and intercultural sensitivity.
  • Knowledge and experience in the electric mobility field (good to have).
  • Experience with industrial switches from the main market vendors like Advantech, Moxa, Weidmueller, or Hirschman would be an advantage.
  • Experience with the following technologies would be an advantage: Linux, Microservices, and containerized applications.
