Your Area of Responsibility

As a Netzwerk & Firewall Administrator (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the operation, administration, and continuous development of our enterprise and data center network infrastructure. You will ensure the secure, high-performance, and highly available operation of our network and security components and actively participate in the planning and implementation of new infrastructure projects. The position offers you deep insights into modern data center networks and excellent development opportunities.

Your Role

Manage our network infrastructure. You will administer, operate, and optimize our data center and cross-data center networks and ensure stable, highly available operation.
Master complex routing. You will configure, monitor, and troubleshoot demanding routing environments and operate our BGP-based network connections.
Secure our systems. You will take over the administration, operation, and rule set maintenance of our firewalls and implement network and security requirements together with infrastructure, security, and application teams.
Solve tricky issues. In the case of network and firewall incidents, you will analyze the causes and reliably resolve them in 2nd- and 3rd-level support.
Keep everything up to date. You will perform firmware and software updates and are responsible for the lifecycle management of our network components.
Create clarity. You will create and maintain technical documentation, network plans, and operating manuals according to operational standards.
Participate in projects. You will support changes, migrations, and infrastructure projects and work in incident, problem, and change management according to ITIL.

Requirements

Technical Skills

Network Expertise. You have very good knowledge of WAN, LAN, and data center networks and are confident in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN/VXLAN, IPv4/IPv6); MPLS and EVPN are a plus.
Security Know-how. Firewall administration, network segmentation, VPN (IPsec/SSL), ACLs, and security policies are familiar territory for you; ideally, you are also familiar with IDS/IPS and Zero-Trust basics.
Vendor Experience. Experience with Nokia, Juniper (JunOS), EdgeCore, Fortinet FortiGate, or Genua firewalls is desirable.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting. You analyze networks confidently with SNMP, Syslog, and NetFlow/sFlow and have experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, or CheckMK.
Automation. You have basic Linux knowledge and enjoy automating with Bash or Python and REST APIs; Git and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) are a plus.

Knowledge Hunger. Topics such as network automation, SD-WAN, cloud networking (OpenStack), or DDoS mitigation arouse your curiosity – ideal if you have already gained experience here.
