About the Position
Non Financial Risk Specialist
At ING, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Non-Financial Risk Specialist to join our Non-Financial Risk Team in Madrid, Spain.
Responsibilities
As a Non-Financial Risk Specialist, your role will include:
- Acting as a trusted advisor on NFR for IT and Business management.
- Supporting, challenging, and monitoring NFR risk management processes and quality.
- Participating in and challenging risk assessments on key strategic projects and programs.
- Supporting Business and IT management on issue identification, risk rating assessment, action definition, and follow-up until issue resolution.
- Contributing to the development, maintenance, and rollout of NFR Frameworks, Policies, Minimum Standards, and Procedures.
- Performing Quality Assurance or deep dive reviews as part of second-line monitoring.
- Identifying external/internal developments, initiatives, and threats, and translating these proactively into the risk strategy.
- Monitoring the design and effectiveness of controls.
- Contributing to the identification of the impact of and the coordination of responses to law and regulatory changes, ECB reports, etc., and monitoring the follow-up of regulatory issue resolution.
- Supporting the Head of NFR with research, assessing the risk profile of the organization, and reporting to Senior Management.
- Generating awareness related to risk management within the organization.
- Developing and maintaining training modules and training the IT/business community.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an NFR Specialist.
- Education: University Degree or equivalent.
- Professional Education: Multiple international certifications for risk management.
- Knowledge: Insight into digital banking, related processes, IT applications, and regulations. Specific experience in Business Banking is preferred.
- Skills:
- Experience in End-to-End processes analysis to identify and assess NFR risks, including root cause analysis.
- Expertise in testing methodologies.
- Collaboration skills and ability to work across functions and countries.
- Sound risk criteria: ability to be firm when needed and show flexibility when possible.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
