About the Position
The Operational Auditor Internal Audit Global performs financial statement, control, operational, and compliance audits for all Harman divisions. This position will perform specific reviews, consultations, research projects, or other tasks as directed. From time to time, this position will work closely with the company’s external auditors.
Responsibilities
- Develop procedures, schedules, priorities, and programs for achieving audit objectives and goals.
- Contribute as a team member working on audit planning, completion, and reporting phases.
- Contribute as a team member working on risk-based audits and advisory engagements (including research, evaluation and analysis, and testing) to aid in identifying issues related to risk, governance, processes, technology, controls, and operating practices of assigned engagements.
- Audit of control environment, process assessment testing of design and implementation, and operating effectiveness of control processes in accordance with the audit plan and approved programs and guidelines.
- Substantive testing and detailed examination of financial statements and relevant accounts in accordance with IFRS and SEGAM policies.
- Propose practical cost-effective recommendations to address control weaknesses and/or process inefficiencies.
- Make recommendations to correct any audit deficiencies identified and follow up with management to ensure remediations are implemented into the company's financial practices.
- Collaborate with other team members and various internal departments to execute across a wide array of business process reviews.
- Work closely with third-party organizations during the audits, with the involvement of the lead auditor providing joint internal audit support.
- Attend team and client discussions throughout the engagement to assist the team with execution of audit methodology.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives, as needed.
- Contribute to research and writing of high-quality internal workpapers. Researching applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Learn the businesses and audit methodology and apply knowledge in team discussions related to audit scope, testing approach, and data analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Economics
- 3+ years post qualification experience
- Experience at the “Big Four” accounting firms.
- Comfortable with leading-edge risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Hungarian and English (fluent).
- Demonstrated track record of working under deadlines in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities, and accomplishing objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, be proactive, take the initiative, be a self-starter, and frequently exceed expectations and deliver outstanding results.
- Possesses excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail to grasp complex situations with changing circumstances to develop well-reasoned solutions to get the job done while balancing risks.
- Assumes ownership, control, and accountability for all areas of responsibility and commitments made to others.
- Prioritizes organizational interests and understands and analyzes impacts of actions to the business with a demonstrated ability of proactive and forward thinking including looking for opportunities and continuous improvements for the business.
