About the Position

Operations and Maintenance Technician

Join SSC Space as an Operations and Maintenance Technician in Mingenew, Western Australia. Maintain satellite ground station equipment and contribute to global space missions.

Responsibilities

As an Operations and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Maintenance of antennas and associated equipment.
• Participating in weekly Work Order reviews.
• Performing maintenance system administrative work.
• Assisting in launch support and satellite orbit raising.
• Assisting at remote sites with equipment installations.
• Conducting equipment troubleshooting.
• Implementing new equipment.
• Ensuring documentation and record keeping.

Requirements

Minimum Essential Requirements:

• Initiative and commitment to provide excellent support to our customers.
• Mechanical Skills.
• Basic understanding of electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Desire and ability to learn the technical aspects of ground station equipment.
• Ability to work at heights up to 15-meters, including operating elevated working platforms.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule to work nights and weekends when required.
• Availability to travel at short notice.
• Ability to follow and enforce safe work practices.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common applications.
• Current motor vehicle driver's license.
• Australian Citizenship.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.

Helpful Skills:

• Knowledge of RF test and measurement.
• Communications equipment experience.
• Prior ground station or teleport work experience.
• Understanding of RF communications systems (e.g., satellite communications, ham radio, etc.).
• Skills with IT and network equipment, including the Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Multilingual.
• Relevant Trade, Military, or University qualifications.

Location

This is a full-time position based at our station in Mingenew, Western Australia. Most of the team carpool from either Geraldton or Dongara in WA each day.
