About the Position
Operations Excellence Subject Matter Expert (OPS EXC SME)
Location: Mortsel, Belgium
Company: IRS Mortsel
About the Role
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Cryns Carrosserie Centers (IRS), you will support our branches in achieving the predefined technical, operational, and financial objectives.
You will analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and develop targeted training programs to achieve the desired repair methodologies.
You will play a crucial role in implementing a repair-oriented philosophy where repair is always preferred over replacement, without compromising quality, safety, and manufacturer specifications.
In this role, you will report to the Operations Director and work closely with site and workshop managers and regional managers to achieve a uniform and high-performance repair strategy across all branches.
In summary, as an SME, you can utilize your technical, strategic, and project management skills.
Daily Responsibilities
- As an expert in your field, you will support site and workshop managers and bodyshop teams within the network in achieving the predefined operational and financial objectives.
- You will analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and develop training programs to achieve the KPIs related to Key-to-Key turnaround time (K2K), productivity, average repair cost, and repair methodologies.
- Together with the managers, you will formulate concrete improvement actions with the goal of achieving a higher repair ratio and implementing a repair-oriented philosophy.
- You will develop projects where you analyze and implement new products, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and results in the branches.
- Knowledge transfer is crucial.
- For this, you will involve all stakeholders, develop targeted (technical) training programs, and deliver these as a trainer at the branches, while also serving as a role model for our employees.
- Naturally, you will monitor the implementation of the learned techniques and processes by regularly visiting the branches for operational audits.
- You will ensure an inventory and analysis of available tools and workshop equipment and monitor their correct use.
- You will also actively work on developing and/or adjusting the required technology strategy based on market developments. For this, you will work closely with our Diagnosis Specialist.
- Innovation: Stay continuously updated on the latest trends and developments in your niche to keep our organization at the forefront.
- Throughout the process, you will ensure compliance with quality and safety standards and prioritize customer satisfaction (repair quality), both internally and externally.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical field (bodyshop or (electro)mechanics) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in the bodyshop industry (multi-site experience is a plus).
- Affinity with vehicles and/or mobility.
- Current technical skills in repairing (recent) vehicles.
- Knowledge and understanding of damage management, calculation, and repair techniques.
- Fluency in Dutch and French (knowledge of English is a plus).
- Ability to assess situations and recognize group dynamics to handle them appropriately.
- Negotiation is second nature to you, and you are focused on finding 'win-win' solutions.
- You see solutions and challenges and exude this 'can-do' attitude to colleagues.
- Strong desire to develop processes that can improve our repair philosophy.
What We Offer
Your compensation: A salary that truly reflects your talent and contribution, along with several perks: 12 extra vacation days, a company car (or mobility budget), cafeteria plan, bike lease, meal vouchers, hospitalization insurance, and supplementary pension through the sector.
- Inspiring work environment: A dynamic yet challenging work environment where we value your contribution.
- Training and feedback moments so you are well-prepared and learn every day.
