About the Position
Oracle Databases Developer
Join a mission-critical portfolio management platform team within a leading Swiss investment bank. You will contribute to a mature, high-performance production system and help elevate team efficiency through shared tools and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders in financial services.
- Analyze business requirements for the delegated Investment Management.
- Design, plan, and deliver sustainable solutions using modern programming languages.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications.
- Conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design, and other phases of SDLC.
- Ensure proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to process move from test to production.
- Understand software design patterns and best practices for high-availability systems.
Requirements
Must have
- 7-9 years of strong background in Oracle databases, physical data models, and SQL and PL/SQL optimization.
- Highly experienced in Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience with handling very large data volumes in relation to data maintenance and query optimization.
- Proficient with the use of AI in a development environment.
- Familiarity with .NET, Java, XML, and Unix shell scripting is an advantage.
- Experience with standards, methods, and techniques in an agile development environment (source control (git), code reviews, scrum/issue handling (Jira/Gitlab issues), and documentation (Confluence /Wiki)).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD processes for development, packaging, and deployment.
- Fluent written and spoken English knowledge is required, and proficiency in German is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a focus in computer science.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with .NET, Java, XML, and Unix shell scripting.
- Proficiency in German.
