About the Position
We are looking for a Payments Service Delivery Manager to join a strategic project with strong exposure to business, operations, and technology teams, ensuring service stability, regulatory alignment, and continuous improvement across a complex payments ecosystem.
Location: Lisbon | Hybrid
Salary: 31.000 € - 38.000 € gross annual
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee payment services operations in a banking environment;
- Ensure end-to-end service management with a strong focus on operations, delivery, and governance;
- Monitor service quality, incidents, problems, changes, releases, and service levels;
- Coordinate external vendors and partners, ensuring operational alignment and service continuity;
- Act as a bridge between business, operations, IT, architecture, security, and other stakeholders;
- Contribute actively to service transformation and evolution initiatives, especially those related to regulatory requirements, resilience, and technology modernization;
- Work across a full payments ecosystem, including Payment Gateway, Core Banking, SEPA platforms, API integrations, and monitoring tools;
- Ensure consistency between business requirements, technical implementation, and operational processes.
Requirements
- Senior experience in the management and operation of payment services within the banking sector;
- Practical experience applying project management methodologies;
- Strong knowledge of SEPA payments, namely SCT, SCT Inst, and SDD (Core and B2B), including rulebooks and applicable standards;
- Experience with Instant Payments (IPS), including implementation, maintenance, and integration with banking back-end systems;
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end Direct Debit lifecycle, including mandates, processing, rejects, returns, and reconciliation;
- Proven experience managing technical and functional integrations between banking systems such as Payment Gateway, CSM, clearing, and settlement;
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, including Banco de Portugal, PSD2, open banking, and security rules for electronic payments;
- Experience in incident management and SLA monitoring in critical service environments;
- Familiarity with payment APIs and observability/monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Kibana;
- Good command of Portuguese and English (minimum B1/B2).
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience in demanding banking environments with high service criticality;
- Practical knowledge of ITIL/ITSM approaches;
- Ability to work across business, technical, and operational dimensions;
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, collaboration, and strong problem-solving skills.
