About the Position

The OSCE is seeking a Payroll Assistant (G5) to join the HR Analytics, Systems and Payroll Unit at the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna. This role involves managing payroll transactions, supporting payroll administration, and ensuring compliance with established rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Processing Payroll Transactions: Support the payroll team in preparing and verifying payroll data, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
  • Supporting Payroll Process: Check payroll inputs for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with Internal Units: Collaborate with Finance and IT to resolve routine system or data issues related to payroll processing.
  • Contributing to Payroll Procedures: Implement established payroll procedures and assist in identifying process improvements.
  • Preparing Payroll Reports: Assist in preparing payroll reports and provide necessary data and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintaining ERP System Data: Update payroll and post-related data in the ERP system (e.g., Oracle/IRMA) and assist in running basic reports and extracting data as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Completed secondary education.
  • Training: Formal training in human resource management at the introductory/basic/entry level.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in payroll, benefits and entitlements, accounting, or HR-related administration, preferably in an international environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with payroll systems and HR databases; knowledge of Oracle applications is highly desirable.
  • Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Gender Awareness: Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity.

We Offer

  • Remuneration: Monthly remuneration around EUR 4,820 (12 times a year) depending on family status. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Austria.
  • Benefits: Possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
  • Appointment: Normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered.

About the Company

The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna assists the Chairpersonship in its activities and provides operational and administrative support to the field operations, and, as appropriate, to other institutions.
