PHP Developer (Wordpress)

About the Position

Evoplay, one of the leading iGaming providers, is known for its innovative approach to game development and technological solutions. We are currently opening a position for a WordPress/PHP Developer to work on SEO promotion of websites, which includes a team of 400 employees! We are looking for a specialist who wants to explore new opportunities and grow in this niche!

We are seeking a WordPress/PHP Developer to work on product WordPress plugins actively used in various internal projects of the company. The main focus is on the backend and interface parts of the plugins: business logic, integrations, admin modules, performance optimization, working with MySQL and caching. The role is suitable for a specialist who wants to work with a product approach, complex scenarios within WordPress, performance optimization, and development of existing platform components.

Responsibilities

• Development of WordPress plugins using our own SDK and modern design patterns
• Refactoring and optimization of existing plugins (PHP 8.2+, modern architecture)
• Designing and implementing complex business logic
• Working with the database: custom tables, migrations, Doctrine DBAL, query optimization
• Integrations with external services
• Development of REST API endpoints with documentation (OpenAPI)
• Writing and maintaining PHPUnit tests
• Performance optimization: profiling, caching strategies, query optimization
• Working with WordPress Multisite: network-aware functionality, blog switching
• Creating WP-CLI commands for administration

Requirements

• Commercial experience in creating or deeply supporting WordPress plugins (2+ years)
• Confident knowledge of PHP 8+ (readonly, enums, typed properties, attributes)
• Deep understanding of WordPress Hooks, Actions, Filters
• Experience with MySQL: complex queries, indexes, optimization
• Git: branching, merge requests, code review
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID, design patterns

Nice to Have

• WordPress Multisite (network activation, blog switching, custom tables)
• Composer ecosystem, PSR standards
• Doctrine DBAL or other query builders
• Dependency Injection (League Container or similar)
• Redis (caching, sessions)
• PHPUnit
• REST API (creating custom endpoints, OpenAPI)
