PHP (Symfony) Software Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a PHP (Symfony) Software Engineer to join our team in Leiden, Netherlands, on a fully remote basis. This role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of experience in PHP development and extensive knowledge of the Symfony framework.

Responsibilities

• Work on the platform that powers our cloud and hosting infrastructure.
• Focus on backend PHP development, building new features.
• Contribute to our microservices architecture and internal APIs.
• Build automations for services such as Managed WordPress and WooCommerce.
• Collaborate with a team of around five colleagues in the Platforms PHP development team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a PHP Developer.
• Extensive experience with the Symfony framework.
• Eagerness to learn and deepen knowledge of infrastructure and related technologies.
• Ability to identify recurring patterns and turn them into automated solutions.
• Fluency in English.

• APIs (including API Platform and OpenAPI specifications)
• MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch
• Kubernetes and Docker
• Ansible (AWX), Git, and GitLab
• Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code)
• Linux, operating systems, servers, storage, and other infrastructure technologies.
