We are looking for a Platform Engineer (all genders) to join our team as soon as possible in a full-time, permanent position. We embrace a remote-first approach, but you can choose whether you’d like to work in a hybrid model or entirely on-site, depending on your proximity to one of our locations.

Responsibilities

Ensure the availability and performance of our platform.
Take responsibility for the operation and further development of our hosting platform, from Proxmox/KVM virtualization to storage (ZFS, Ceph) and networking, all the way through to monitoring and observability.
Serve as the technical escalation point for our Platform Support team.
Analyze complex issues to their root cause and ensure that problems do not recur.
Use Ansible and Git for automation.
Plan and oversee maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.
Contribute to capacity and hardware planning.
Work closely with Platform, Support, Dev, Network, and Security teams.
Share knowledge and actively collaborate with the team.

Requirements

Training as an IT specialist in system integration, a degree in computer science, or a comparable qualification and experience.
Several years of professional experience (at least 5 years) in the operation or development of large-scale Linux and virtualization environments.
Solid hands-on experience with:
- Linux (troubleshooting, performance)
- Proxmox/KVM or comparable virtualization technologies
- Ansible
- Git
- Monitoring solutions (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana)
Ideally, experience with:
- ZFS and/or Ceph
- Networking fundamentals (BGP, L3 routing, VLAN, Open vSwitch)
- Git/CI
- Scripting in Bash or Python
Self-motivation and a proactive approach.
Very good German and English skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Vault, or PowerDNS.
Experience in a hosting/cloud environment.
