Postdoctoral Fellow

About the Position

The Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) at Harvard Medical School is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the development of cutting-edge research platforms. The role focuses on integrating multiple, complementary datasets to enable new perspectives for essential biomedical questions. The research emphasizes the development of novel methods and techniques for integrating clinical and molecular genomic data.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel methodologies and applications for high-throughput phenotype extraction.
• Harmonize content with biomedical ontologies.
• Integrate clinical and molecular genomic data.

Requirements

• PhD degree (or MD/PhD) in biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, Computational Biology, computer science, or a related field.
• Curriculum in and/or experience with standardized ontologies, terminologies, metadata, and related technologies.
• Experience in programming and software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS).
• Statistics, data mining, and machine learning experience.
• Experience with R, Python, and/or Perl.
