We are looking for a permanent position to support our Database and PostgreSQL expert team with immediate effect:
PostgreSQL Database Engineer/Consultant (m/f/d)
The database team is an association of PostgreSQL and database specialists, which successfully collaborates in remote work and hybrid work models. PostgreSQL is especially used by many of our customers as a business-critical database. We actively support its operation and are looking for a highly motivated additional team member.
Responsibilities
- Long-term PostgreSQL projects like migrations
- 3rd-level PostgreSQL support, also as part of our on-call rotation
- Open Source work on PostgreSQL-related projects
- Database reliability engineering
- Architecture review, performance analysis, and health checks
- Optional: Training courses and conference presentations
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, both at an administrative and architectural level
- Operational experience and ideally initial implementation experience with PostgreSQL high-availability solutions
- Experience with other PostgreSQL system projects such as pgbouncer, backup (pgBackRest, Barman), and monitoring/surveillance solutions
- Knowledge of configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible) and general Linux system engineering
- Motivation and team spirit
- Willingness to contribute your ideas and knowledge
- Communication in spoken and written German and English
- The ability to seek and find customer-oriented solutions
- Coding experience in C/C++, Python, or other languages
- Occasional willingness to travel
- Location in Germany and appropriate work permit
