Job Description

The energy transition is more than just a buzzword for you – it's a fascinating challenge that you want to help shape. Are you ready to elevate the efficiency of home energy management systems (HEMS) with innovative predictive control algorithms? With us, you'll dive deep into the world of intelligent energy optimization and contribute to making the energy needs of buildings more flexible and sustainable.

• During your internship, you will expand existing control algorithms and further develop simulation-based system models to map the complexity of HEMS.
• You will independently implement practical and real-time capable algorithms for predictive control of HEMS and bring them to application readiness.
• You will precisely evaluate the performance of your algorithms in various simulation studies and derive optimization potentials from them.
• Lastly, you will keep yourself updated on the state of the art in predictive control, modeling, and optimization methods for HEMS through comprehensive literature research and bring new insights to the team.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Cybernetics, Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, or similar with good to very good academic performance
• Experience and Know-how: Solid programming skills in Python or Matlab/Simulink; knowledge in model predictive control
• Personality and Work Ethic: You are able to work independently on tasks, contribute your own ideas, and enrich the team through an open and collaborative working style
• Work Environment: Hybrid work environment with office days and mobile work by arrangement
• Languages: Fluent English

Start: By agreement

Duration: 4 - 6 months
