About the Position

I’m actively hiring for two Preconstruction Estimators for a respected, well-established general contractor in Texas. This role is based in Dallas and supports large-scale commercial projects across the region.

The Role

The Pre-Construction Estimator will manage multiple commercial projects through the early phases, from initial concept through bidding and subcontractor procurement. Projects typically range from $5M to $70M+ in value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects through concept, design development, and bidding phases
  • Solicit subcontractor and supplier bids (electronically and verbally)
  • Review drawings and specifications and perform detailed quantity take-offs
  • Order, organize, and distribute bid documents
  • Attend and participate in pre-bid conferences when required
  • Visit proposed job sites to assess existing conditions
  • Track subcontractor participation to ensure full bid coverage
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents on schedules and constructability considerations
  • Input take-off data into estimating software
  • Set up bid tabulations and identify critical scope questions
  • Prepare qualification attachments for bid submissions
  • Coordinate bid bonds when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of pre-construction experience on commercial building projects
  • Proven experience estimating projects in the $5M–$70M+ range
  • Strong computer proficiency, including: Destini, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
