About the Position
Pricing Actuary
- Location: Brussels – Fonsnylaan
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Salary: €4206 - €7811 per month
Responsibilities
As a Pricing Actuary, you will:
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Experts on the development and management of life insurance products.
- Understand business needs while managing (re)insurance risks.
- Monitor the profitability of NN life insurance products and be an expert in the key drivers of this profitability.
- Support strategic processes such as profit sharing and financial planning through quantitative analyses.
- Prioritize the use of cutting-edge technologies and data-driven analyses, such as artificial intelligence applied to dynamic pricing.
- Be responsible for a full range of pension and protection products, with or without supplementary guarantees.
- Take initiatives in the deployment of the product plan and act as the reference point for EB/SE products.
- Develop and implement new solutions in compliance with the legislation (e.g., cashflow projection tools, backoffice systems).
- Develop, refine, and monitor SE pricing and defend it to stakeholders, including a critical review of best estimate assumptions: mortality, lapses, cost structure.
- Propose actions to improve the profitability of our products.
- Discuss and challenge the work of your colleagues and support the development of junior team members.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in a relevant field.
- Education: Master in Actuarial Science (or equivalent professional experience).
- Segment Experience: Experience in EB/SE/2nd Pillar segment is required.
- Languages: Fluent in English, knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills: ability to simplify complex and technical topics and interact with a wide range of profiles (sales, experts, senior management).
- Programming and artificial intelligence skills (Python, R3S, RAFM).
- Experience with a cashflow projection tool and/or an automation project is a plus (e.g., workflow tools, PowerApp, DataBricks).
- Strong abilities to document tools, processes, and products in line with stringent governance requirements.
- Motivated to work on innovative topics and eager to continuously develop yourself to stay at the forefront.
- Proactive, autonomous, naturally take initiative and ownership, and are able to handle strategic discussions.
- Good stress resilience, assertive, and capable of working with tight deadlines.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Critical mindset.
- Genuine interest in the customer, the business, and the value created for the company.
